Andrea Ramirez

Hello! I’m Andrea Ramirez, a current junior at UTEP doing a B.S. of Biological Sciences with a Biomedical Concentration. I am excited to be the 2025-2026 secretary for Collegiate Double T Health Professions Honor Society. I am currently doing research at UTEP and I volunteer at non-profits. I have been a member of Double T for about 2 years where I have developed a passion for community service and leadership. Outside of academics, I enjoy traveling, exploring new coffee shops, and playing sports. My goal is to become an MD, I’m currently interested in the surgery field.

Fun Fact: I studied abroad at South Korea!

My Story

During my time at UTEP, I have gained valuable skills in research where I have understood better how diseases evolve and how medicine functions. Joining Double T has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my journey. Getting to work in different non profit clinics such as Rotacare, El Paso Baptist Clinic, and La Clínica have grown my passion for serving undeserved communities. One of my favorite memory was MedVenture where I had the opportunity to teach middle schoolers how to dissect a heart and its anatomical functions. Working as a secretary has helped me to develop better organization skills and time management. To all members: Feel free to reach out if you have any questions or ideas. Remember: The path is not easy, but it’s worth it.
