DOUBLE T BACKGROUND STORY
Since the foundation of the Collegiate Double T Health Professions Honor Society in 2012, the organization has impacted various members who are seeking a medical profession and higher education. The Double T organization provides its members with clinical rotations, Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) conferences, MedTalks and exponential accounts of volunteer services to the local community. The Double T organization is the only honor society in El Paso that is sponsored by Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso at Paul L. Foster School of Medicine and El Paso Desert Mountain Area Health Education Center (AHEC) which together guide the honor society to scholastic success.
In 2011, a group of students that were attending Franklin, Montwood, and Silva were finishing up their senior year of high school. These students had the ambition to pursue their purpose at a young age as they were highly involved in a high school medical organization known as Double T Corps. Double T Corps provided these students with all necessary apparatus and guidance to serve their aims to a higher purpose in life.

During their travels to a medical camp located in Sul Ross State University, they realized graduation was right around the corner. Soon, everybody would proceed on to their next path in life. This realization and their love for the Double T Corps sparked a movement to open up a medical organization chapter for all students in high school and college levels. As they returned to El Paso, they organized multiple meetings with Dr. Charles Miller and Marcelle Daniels to turn their dream into reality. As high school students, they have paved a pathway for not only themselves but for all other students to share the same experience and success with the Collegiate Double T Health Professions Honor Society.
