Hello
I am a second-year student pursuing a Bachelor’s in Biological Sciences with a concentration in Biomedicine and a minor in Psychology. My dream is to become a physician, potentially specializing in Neurology or Anesthesia, and to serve underserved communities like my hometown, El Paso. Outside of academics, I enjoy spending time with my family, lifting weights, running, and caring for my three adorable pets: a Shih Tzu named Loly, a Pomeranian named Benny, and a mini pig named Kiki! Fun fact: I’ve owned nearly every type of pet imaginable growing up!
My Story
Being part of Collegiate Double T has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my college journey. Volunteering at RotaCare has been especially impactful, as it gave me the opportunity to help bridge language barriers between patients and doctors. Growing up in a border city like El Paso, I’ve seen how important cultural understanding and communication are in healthcare. Even as a student, it’s fulfilling to play a small role in patients’ healthcare journeys and witness their gratitude and resilience. As the High School Liaison for Collegiate Double T, I’ve had the honor of mentoring younger members who are just beginning to explore their career paths. Seeing their enthusiasm and hearing about their dreams reminds me of why I joined this organization—to make a difference in our communities while growing as future healthcare professionals.
To my fellow members: Take full advantage of the incredible opportunities here, from volunteering to networking. The connections you build now could become lifelong friendships and professional collaborations. Let’s uplift and support one another as we work toward making our goals a reality. What inspires me most about becoming a physician is the opportunity to bring hope and certainty to patients during their most vulnerable moments. I strive to not only treat medical conditions but to improve lives and strengthen the bond between healthcare providers and the communities they serve.
